<p>In a recent hotel survey, results identify five traits for the target market for hotels. These include age, education, income, social class and lifestyles, and reason-for-travel variables.</p>
<p>These demographics reveal characteristics that hotel managers and marketers should consider as they design their marketing strategies and tactics.</p>
<p>The Center of Hospitality Research, at Cornell University, administered the hotel survey.</p>
<p>Hotel Survey Results Reveals Age</p>
<p>Age reveals that half (50.3%) of hotel customers are Boomers (41 to 55 years old). Of the other half, more (30%) are older than younger (20.5%).</p>
<p>Hotel Survey Results Reveals Education</p>
<p>Hotel customers are well educated. Only a quarter haven&#8217;t at least attended college: 19.8 percent attended college but didn&#8217;t earn a degree, 33 percent earned  bachelor&#8217;s degrees, and 13.2 percent earned graduate degrees.</p>
<p>Hotel Survey Results on Income</p>
<p>Income is another important demographic revealed by the Cornell study. Most (43.9%) earned between $25,000 and $50,000. Only 15 percent made less than $25,000, while the remaining 41.1 percent earned more than $50,000.</p>
<p>Hotel Survey Results Reveals Social Class &amp; Lifestyle</p>
<p>Income and education results from the Cornell survey indicate that most hotel customers are middle class and in the Achiever lifestyle.</p>
<p>Hotel Survey Results Reveal Purpose of Travel</p>
<p>The Cornell survey revealed that three-quarters of hotel customers travel for leisure rather than for business.</p>
<p>Hotel Survey Results Portrays The Target Market</p>
<p>Results of the Cornell hotel survey portrays hotel customers as middle-aged, well-educated Boomers, who travel to have fun with friends and family.</p>
<p>This target market deserves the most attention from hotel marketers and managers. Both marketing and on-site services and activities should be designed for this target market.</p>

<p>Before you sign up for a telemarketing call center, ask the price per call.  Some can be very expensive.  Just like anything else, it pays to shop around.  You will want to find a call center that has experience as well as one that has been in business for a while.  You will most likely have to pay a monthly fee for this service, so be sure to ask the fees up front.</p>
<p>An eager and bubbly personality is expected of customer service agents because they are the people in the front line of your business. People who work in a telemarketing call center must always be pleasant and patient when dealing with the public. Knowing some information and being able to answer any questions about your product(s) is key to a successful telemarketing team. If the telemarketers are not interested in this line of work it will reflect on the way that they respond to your customers.</p>

If possible visit the call center, although it may be very difficult and not economically feasible.  You should also make sure that they are using state of the art technology so that no calls get dropped and you do not lose a potential customer.</p>
<p>Without a good telemarketing call service center you do not have a customer base. You need a reliable, high-quality call center that will not only maintain your current customers but acquire new customers as well.</p>

<p>When it comes to engineering and architectural drafting, it can be difficult to find a quality full-time CAD drafter. Of course, even if you do locate such a person you will be required to pay accordingly, and they do not come cheap. This can be problematic for a company that may need to save costs and expenses.</p>
<p>Hiring a CAD drafter comes with a variety of expenses such as health insurance, vacation pay, social security payments and other benefits. Yes, you could hire an independent contractor but there may be liability issues associated with such a venture. Why this may seem like a difficult position to be in there is an option: contract out to CAD Services.</p>
<p>~~ The Services ~~</p>
<p>CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) services will handle the same work and duties that hiring in house would achieve. The main difference, of course, would be that contracting out to outsource services would come with significantly less cost. Often, when a company is strapped financially or is a low liquid capital start up there comes a need to cut expenses and contracting out can serve that purpose.</p>
<p>But the truth is that even a large company should outsource at least part of their CAD work. The company should maintain only sufficient full-time CAD drafters to handle the minimum expected workload. The ups and downs above this should be outsourced. This will maximize savings, as will be apparent from the below paragraphs.</p>
<p>~~ Costs  ~~</p>
<p>CAD services are predominantly pay-per-use rather than flat-fee. If you don&#8217;t use them on Tuesday, you don&#8217;t pay them for Tuesday. Not so if you have a full-time CAD  drafter!</p>
<p>To further cost you less, many CAD service providers also vary their charges according to the size of the drawing sheet. The smaller your sheet, the less the price per sheet. Some go even further and reduce the price per sheet for less dense detail.</p>
<p>But wait a minute there&#8217;s scope for even more price reduction! If you start sending out assignments out to a CAD service as a steady stream, you get classified as a &#8220;golden customer&#8221;: most CAD shops will gladly throw in a volume discount after a month or two. All you have to do is ask!</p>
<p>~~ CAD Platforms and Vendor Choice ~~</p>
<p>There are several CAD platforms that engineers and architects use, and no CAD service is master of them all. The platform you use, if not widely employed, can limit your choice of CAD services to certain vendors only.</p>
<p>The most widely used platform is AutoCAD. Some others are MicroStation, Pro-Engineer, Archicad, SolidWorks, VectorWorks and Catia. To find CAD service vendors specialized in your platform, put &#8220;CAD services&#8221; and the name of your platform in a search engine and pull up the results.</p>
<p>~~  Quality Issues  ~~</p>
<p>Now, some may wonder if  quality will be maintained by a service that is involved with contracting out. Well, let&#8217;s put your worries at ease: many CAD services produce quality that can surpass that of the outsourcing company! All it takes is a little due diligence to find them.</p>
<p>Ask for samples, check out references and give a trial assignment before you decide to shoot for a long-term arrangement. If that sounds like dating to decide on marriage, you&#8217;re right on the money!</p>

<p>Getting into the global marketplace is easier now than ever before.  The Internet allows you to tap that marketplace from your living room.  But what if you don&#8217;t know how to make a Web site?</p>
<p>The world is changing in other ways too.  No longer do we expect to get a 9-5 job that lasts many years.  In fact, short-term contract jobs without benefits are becoming more and more common.  This uncertainty might cause you to consider starting a small business in your spare time.  If you get the knack, you may even be able to make enough money to make it your sole income.</p>
<p>But you are a novice, and you aren&#8217;t moving on this idea.  Plus, you think you can&#8217;t afford a Web site.</p>
<p>Making a Web site is easy for novices these days.  There are plenty of Internet businesses set up to create a template Web site, so you don&#8217;t even have to learn HTML.  But there&#8217;s a drawback&#8211;without HTML, you don&#8217;t know what you need to know to manage your Web site!  You will need to know at least a bit of this formatting language for Web sites.  As Webmaster you will need to add affiliate links and shopping carts, not to mention clickable ads, if you want your site to earn money.</p>
<p>Learn HTML?  Isn&#8217;t that like learning a programming language? Isn&#8217;t it hard?  The answer is, no it isn&#8217;t really a programming language. It&#8217;s a formatting language. And it&#8217;s really not hard at all. The basic principles are very simple.  Here&#8217;s another bonus for you: you don&#8217;t need to know very much HTML at all to do what you need to for a simple Web site.</p>
<p>You will need special software that makes both the HTML code and the Web site as it looks in a browser.  There are three alternatives for you:  Macromedia Dreamweaver, the most costly at several hundred dollars; Microsoft Front Page, a simpler piece of software that you can buy for around $100; and Nvu, which costs you nothing.  Nvu is open-source software.  Open-source software is available for free; those who create and maintain it donate their time, often to provide us with an alternative to Microsoft.</p>
<p>Web hosting is something else you will need that can be costly if you are not careful.  Web hosting is renting space on a server.  Hosting companies offer fancy solutions for big bucks, and also simple solutions for little money.  If you buy both Web hosting and domain registration from the same company, you may get a better deal. Domain registration is reserving your domain name, such as www.mywebsite.com.  In fact, you can probably find companies that offer both for as little as $25 per year for a simple Web site.  Open a search engine and type in &#8220;cheap domain hosting&#8221; and see what you find!</p>
<p>One of the products that the Internet has generated in the past couple of years is an e-book. That&#8217;s information that you pay for and download immediately. It&#8217;s in the form of a document that you can read from your computer or print out on your printer. In our instant-gratification culture, it&#8217;s catching on. If you&#8217;re budget-conscious, plan to use Nvu, and look in the search engines for an e-book on how to use it!</p>

<p>The following seven business names ideas will create a name that you&#8217;ll never have to replace:</p>
<p>Business Names: Idea 1 &#8211; Create numerous name options.</p>
<p>Business Names: Idea 2 &#8211; Select a name that matches your business.</p>
<p>Business Names: Idea 3 &#8211; Select a name that allows expansion of your business.</p>
<p>Business Names: Idea 4 &#8211; Choose a name that makes a positive impression on your business&#8217; target market.</p>
<p>Business Names: Idea 5 &#8211; Determine if any name options are taken.</p>
<p>Business Names: Idea 6 &#8211; Research your target market.</p>
<p>Business Names: Idea 7 &#8211; Know the sounds and meanings for each name option.</p>

<p>To exemplify business name ideas two and three, let me tell you what I did. When I started my business in 2000, I named it Sulton Books. Sulton is a blend of my and my husband&#8217;s last names. &#8220;Sulton&#8221; portrayed no message to add to the business name and &#8220;Books&#8221; limited my business to books.</p>
<p>After the Twin Towers were bombed, the Arabic sound to &#8220;Sulton&#8221; became a distinct disadvantage. I was smarter with the second name, &#8220;Best Books Plus,&#8221; because &#8220;Best&#8221;  added a positive connotation. &#8220;Books&#8221; was still appropriate for my business, and  &#8220;Plus&#8221; enabled me to expand beyond just books.</p>
<p>Business Names: Idea 4 &#8211; Choose A Name That Makes A Positive Impression On Your Business&#8217; Target Market</p>
<p>You need to know as much as possible about your target market so you can select a final name that leaves a positive impression with target market members.</p>
<p>But don&#8217;t tie your name to the target market so that you can&#8217;t later expand into new target markets. Remember you&#8217;re trying to avoid the expense of renaming your business later.</p>
<p>Business Names: Idea 5 &#8211; Determine If Any Name Options Are Taken</p>
<p>You need research to assure that none of your business name ideas are already taken.</p>
<p>You can search for trademarks that use any of you name options at the United States Patent and Trademark Office site. Eliminate all options that are a part of a trademark name to assure that you don&#8217;t get sued and have to change your name later.</p>
<p>Business Names: Idea 6 &#8211; Research Your Target Market</p>
<p>Now, you&#8217;ll need to find some representative members of your target market and what they think of when hearing or reading each name. Then ask them which name options that they like best.</p>
<p>While you&#8217;re at it, show them your product and get their reactions to it. Sometimes their reactions will provide new name ideas.</p>
<p>Business Names: Idea 7 &#8211; Learn The Connotations And Hear The Sounds Of Each Name</p>
<p>The best business names sound good and flow well of the tongue. They also portray positive meanings.</p>
<p>And don&#8217;t forget that words&#8217; meaning vary in different cultures. What you consider positive in your culture may not be so in another culture.</p>
<p>Avoid mistakes like that of the American car company. When naming a model &#8220;Nova,&#8221; no one checked to see what the name means in different languages. In one country, it means &#8220;no go.&#8221; That meaning wasn&#8217;t good for sales.</p>

<p>What is it that you have to offer above and beyond the competition? These are the things that are going to get customers to come in. A common mistake is to be too broad in your advertising. For example you may say you are a full service tanning salon. What exactly does that mean? For the customers, it could be mean many different things.</p>
<p>You are likely very proud of your tanning salon so make sure that is reflected in your advertising. Tell them what you have as far as how many tanning areas and what types they are. Let them know you offer a full line of quality tanning products that they can offer. Also let them know that you offer eye protection and very clean tanning areas. All of these things are great angles for marketing your tanning salon.</p>
<p>It is important that your tanning salon offers them the convenience that they are looking for. One way you can do this is by offering extended hours during the busy times of the year. Not everyone can get into a tanning salon between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. You will be losing a great deal of customers if you don&#8217;t open your doors sooner and stay open later than that.</p>
<p>You will definitely find that there are customers who enjoy tanning before they go in to work each morning. Some of them many work all night so they stop in to tan before they go home to sleep. Others want to be able to come in on their lunch hour or right after work. It is a great way to transition from work mode to family mode. Market these hours so that they will know you are looking out for their needs.</p>
<p>Personalized service is something that customers really enjoy. It doesn&#8217;t matter what type of service they are seeking. You have an advantage over the competition when it comes to those who have already been to your tanning salon before. Send them a newsletter or a postcard. It can be a great way to advertise without seeming so.</p>
<p>This type of marketing needs to be more personal though. In fact, you should start it by telling them how much you appreciate them being a customer. Let them know you would really like it if they start coming in again to tan. As an added incentive you can offer them a discount for a limited period of time. Keep in mind they have other advertisements they are exposed to for tanning so give them a push to come your direction.</p>
<p>It is in your best interest to come up with original marketing ploys to encourage customers to tan at your business. You want to stay very busy so you can generate as much profit as possible. You will need the additional income to get your through the slower parts of the year in the tanning salon business. Don&#8217;t just sit back and wait for customers to come your way, go out there and encourage them to see what you have to offer.</p>

<p>Making money in general is something that is tough to do today. It is often something that people strive for because it allows them to live the life that they want to live. Money is, after all, one of the most important things that people can achieve. No matter what they&#8217;d like to do with themselves, it is important that they are able to get the money that they need to earn in order to live the type of life that they would really like to live. In order to make money on web, a person needs to keep a few things in mind, so that they can achieve the best for themselves.</p>
<p>First of all, when a person wants to make money on web, they must have a good idea of what they are good at. Most of the time, when a person makes money on the web, they are doing something that they are very good at, and that no one else can do for them. Therefore fore, if you want to make money on web, you first need to figure out what you are going to be really good at, and go from there.</p>
<p>The second thing to think about when you want to make money on web is what your hobbies are. If you can find something to do online that not only is something that you are good at, but also something that correlates with one of your hobbies, you&#8217;ll be able to be much more successful. After you have thought about what you are good at, you should think about your hobbies, and see if you can work the two together in any way.</p>
<p>After you have a good idea of what you want to do to make money on web, meaning that you have something you are good at that can tie into something that you like to do in your spare time, it is time to develop a niche. This is an area that you can fall into that doesn?t have very many other people in it. See if you can do some research about the various tings that people do online to make money in your own field, and then see if there is something that you can do to have some differences in what you want to do. This can be your niche, and it can be the one way that you make money. In order to make money on web, you need to be able to have your niche.</p>
<p>Having figured out what your niche is, it&#8217;s time to get going with your make money on web project. You&#8217;re going to have to make a website for your idea first of all. Having a website is a must to make money on web. You&#8217;re also going to need a product to sell or a service to offer, and have a website so people can find out about and purchase it.</p>
<p>Lastly, in order to make money on web, you need to make sure that you are keeping up with the times and doing all that you can to insure that your business can move forward with the times. If you really want to make money on web, you&#8217;ll be able to do this quite easily.</p>
<p>You can make money on web without having your own business, but be careful. A lot of sites will offer you the ability to make money on web but do not really deliver on their promises. Do your due diligence on any offer you see which interests you and claims to let you make money on web.</p>
<p>If you work on the things you love, then the time spent on them does not feel like work and the quality will show.</p>

<p>Niche marketing is not about trying to sell your product or service to the world at large. <p>Niche marketing is not about trying to compete. Competition is taken out of the equation when you do niche marketing. You aren&#8217;t out there in the world lined up beside or behind a million other people who are selling the same thing you are selling. You are selling to a specific audience that you have created for yourself with your opt-in email list.</p>
<p>Niche marketing is not about selling to different people every day of the week. Once you have your list built, you can sell to the same people time and time again. By taking as much time as you need and putting forth enough effort to get to know the people who make up your list of buyers you can continue to sell to them.</p>
<p>Niche marketing is not about focusing on the big picture. It is about focusing on the small picture and the smaller the better. Narrowing your niche down to a very specific part of a larger market assures you of gaining a fair market share of that small part. The world is a big place and there are billions of people. You only need an infinitesimal portion of the population to have a huge list of potential buyers of your products or services.</p>
<p>Niche marketing is not about seeing only the impossibilities. Niche marketing is only about looking closely at the possibilities. Small possibilities converted to sales can equal big profits.</p>

If you put the two works together, niche marketing means buying or selling a product or service in a special area of demand. All that really means is that a product or service is being sold to the people who are most interested in that particular product or service and not to the world in general.</p>
<p>Oftentimes big businesses use niche marketing. For example, a company that makes computers and computer accessories might advertise all-in-one copy/printer/scanners to the home computer user while at the same time advertising single function machines to large businesses.</p>
<p>One of the things that make niche marketing so attractive to sellers is that their advertising budgets go further. It costs less to advertise to a specialized market than it does to advertise to a broader market.</p>
<p>Niche marketing must be designed to meet the unique needs of the targeted audience. Niche marketers must tailor their product to meet those unique needs. If, for example, you have designed a product to make poodle grooming easy enough for the untrained professional to do it, those who own poodles will be most interested in your product. Those who own Blood Hounds or cats couldn&#8217;t care less. If you have written an e-book that will explain how to start and succeed at an online business, those who are looking for that information are your niche market. Those who are happy doing what they are doing are not interested at all.</p>
<p>Niche marketing is a very effective and cost efficient way to advertise and sell specific products or services to a specific audience or, hopefully, buyers of that product or service.</p>

<p>It is just one of those hard, cruel facts of life that the big boys have all the money they need to advertise and sell their products and us little guys are on advertising budgets that are so small they probably don&#8217;t add up to what the big boys spend on paper clips in a month. Competing with the big boys isn&#8217;t feasibleor possible, for that matter. So what are us little guys supposed to do?</p>
<p>Niche marketing is our answer. We can&#8217;t advertise our products and services to the world at large but we don&#8217;t have to be able to do that to be able to make a pretty decent living thanks to the Internet.</p>
<p>Niche marketing is selling specific products or services to a limited audience. One person with a computer, an internet connection and a good idea can go into business for himself on the Internet and target the people who would be most interested in what he has to sell and do all of the above on a very limited advertising budget.</p>
<p>Finding the right niche for what you have to sell isn&#8217;t really all that difficult. Just think about who the people are who would be most interested in what you have to sell. For example, if you have concocted a shampoo formula that will take chlorine out of a person&#8217;s hair, you can&#8217;t compete with giant companies that sell shampoo but you can narrow your market down to a niche and target sales to those who have swimming pools. You buy a domain, get a server, and build a website to advertise your product JUST to people who have swimming pools.</p>
<p>In essence, niche marketing is selling a product or service to those who want or need the product the most.</p>

<p>You may have a niche marketing website that just isn&#8217;t producing sales for you at the rate at which you had hoped it would..or maybe it isn&#8217;t producing any income for you at all or it could be that you haven&#8217;t actually figured out that what you are selling is, in fact, a niche market product. You might need to do a little &#8216;tweaking&#8217; and modify your strategies somewhat to get the site performing better. There really are some things that you can do to improve your existing product.</p>
<p>Step #1:  Bill Cosby, the famous entertainer, once said, &#8220;I don&#8217;t know what the secret of success is, but I know the secret of failure and that was trying to please everybody.&#8221; He was right. You can&#8217;t please everybody and you can&#8217;t sell to everybody either. It&#8217;s possible that you may simply need to narrow you market, identify you product as a niche marketing product and advertise it accordingly.</p>
<p>Step #2: To improve your existing product you have likely overlooked the most obvious solution of all. You could simply ask your customers what they think. They are, after all, the end users of the product or service that you are selling. There is nobody that knows how a product can be improved better than the people who are using the product.</p>
<p>Step #3: Analyze the competition. Take the time and put forth the effort to look at the product or service that your competitors are offering. Identify their strengths and weaknesses.  Find out what your competition can&#8217;t, won&#8217;t or doesn&#8217;t really like to do and set about doing those very things yourself.</p>
<p>Step #4: Are you selling your product at the right price? Pricing a product too low makes people think it won&#8217;t be any good, pricing too high will discourage them from buying it.</p>

<p>Keywords play a huge part in marketing online.  In fact, the top marketers on the Internet today, use good keyword optimization.  If you are just starting out, or have been at it for a while, but not seeing the results you want, chances are you aren&#8217;t using keywords to your advantage.</p>
<p>I challenge you to ask yourself this question:  Do you have the top 100 keywords that will guarantee you instant success with the search engines?  If you answer no to that question, you are reading the right article today.  It is time to find those keywords that will give you what you need.</p>
<p>So, how do you get your list of top 100 keywords?  There are really many services on google and yahoo that can help you with this.  The keyword generating tools on the internet are more than helpful.  There are some that even do the majority of the work for you.</p>
<p>So, how do you know what type of keyword generating service you should choose?  With many out there, it can be confusing, so I recommend going by what your budget is.  If you have a high budget for this type of service, you can find one that will do absolutely all of the work for you.  It is definitely worth every penny. However, there are some who don&#8217;t want to pay that much and are willing to go through some extra steps to get the same results.</p>
<p>It is important to have keywords with a low competition.  The higher the competition, the more difficult and slow it can be to get your site ranked with that phrase or word.  If you think about it, the amount of times someone uses that particular search phrase is highly important also.  It gives that keyword more popularity and you more traffic.</p>
<p>So, how can you use the keywords once you have found them?  Well, it is important to use them, that is for sure, but you don&#8217;t want to overuse them.  That is for sure.  I have learned by experience, that keyword saturation will not get anyone anywhere.  For example, when using article marketing, stick to using 2-3 keywords maximum in the article and one in the title.  Using more than that will make you very unpopular with the search engines.</p>
<p>I personally love doing keyword research.  With the right tools, it can be fun finding what will work for your particular niche.  Once you do, you have hit a goldmine.</p>
